My name is Sarah Latdrik and I have been an educator for 10 years! I have taught in 4 countries in grades K-12 with a rather unique background. I love to travel and experience things outside of my comfort zone. I have 2 amazingly spunky girls, Bella is 5 and will be a Kindergartener here at North this year and LillyAnn is 2. Here is a quick rundown of my experiences
Undergraduate course work at Franklin College. Completed 1,000+ hour in the classroom while preparing for my license. This includes 2 internships in Guadalajara Mexico and South Africa. There is where I found my love of culture.
2 years in half day Kindergarten in Warren Township. Found my love for Reader's and Writer's Workshop.
1.5 years as a volunteer teacher in the Marshall Islands with the International Development Program at Harvard University
.5 years as a Bilingual Specialist in Spokane, Washington supporting the Marshallese Community
Part-time Kindergarten in Hamilton Southeastern Schools while I had my oldest daughter Bella
2 years of Full Day Kindergarten back in Warren Township
Looped to 1st grade with my Kindergarten writers to continue our work and publish The Unique Link (available on Amazon!)
Reading Interventionist supporting readers K-4 and had my youngest daughter LillyAnn
5th Grade Reading and Writing to challenge myself with Intermediate Readers and Writers
This summer I transitioned into the Instruction Specialist role and developed curriculum and teacher professional development leading into this 2016-2017 school year. However, my heart has always been in elementary so I resigned from that amazing opportunity to step back into the primary grades.
I am so very excited to join the Noblesville community as a parent and teacher!
